Dag Nasty

Dag Nasty é uma banda de punk rock de Washington D.C. formada em 1985. Foi uma das primeiras a introduzir a melodia no hardcore punk, efetivamente criando um novo gênero, mais suave, menos violento, mas ferozmente inovador. Seu estilo foi de grande influência para diversas bandas de emocore/post-hardcore que vieram durante as décadas de 80 e 90. Já teve várias formações mas hoje se mantém com: Shawn Brown (vocal), Brian Baker (guitarra), Roger Marbury (baixo) e Colin Sears (bateria).

No Fun at All (muitas vezes abreviado como NFAA) é uma banda de punk rock formada em 1991 na cidade de Skinnskatteberg, Suécia. O nome foi inspirado por um cover feito pelos Sex Pistols da música "No Fun" dos Stooges e pelo nome da banda Sick Of It All. Sua formação atual é: Ingemar Jansson (vocal), Mikael Danielsson (guitarra), Fredrik Eriksson (guitarra), Stefan Bratt (baixo) e Kjell Ramstedt (bateria). Estiveram muito ativos durante a década de 90 no auge do hardcore melódico e hoje se dedicam a fazer shows esporádicos.

Hüsker Dü

Hüsker Dü foi uma banda americana de rock alternativo formada em Saint Paul, Minnesota em 1979 por Bob Mould (vocal/guitarra), Greg Norton (baixista) e Grant Hart (bateria/vocal). A banda começou tocando um hardcore punk nos moldes do Black Flag e Minor Threat, posteriormente acabou introduzindo influências de rock psicodélico e power pop dos anos 1960 ao seu som. Suas canções eram notáveis por unir a velocidade e agressividade do punk com o senso de melodia e sentimentalismo do pop, distanciando-se do engajamento político que apresentavam as demais bandas de hardcore. Frequentemente tida como uma das pioneiras do rock alternativo, a banda experimentou relativo sucesso nas rádios universitárias, mas separou-se em 1987 antes de atingir sucesso comercial.

Samiam é uma banda de Berkeley, Califórnia formada em 1988, a partir das cinzas de diversas bandas de punk rock da região. A banda é um dos grande nomes do emocore/post-hardcore dos anos 90 ao lado de Jawbreaker e Hot Water Music. Apesar de não terem obtido grande destaque no mainstream, o clipe de "Capsized" do álbum Clumsy (1994) chegou a passar na MTV e a música "She Found You" do álbum You Are Freaking Me Out (1997) tocou consideravelmente nas rádios norte americanas. Os membros da banda também são envolvidos em outros projetos como Solea e Texas Is the Reason.
