The Jesus Lizard

The Jesus Lizard é uma banda de noise rock/rock alternativo formada em 1987 na cidade de Austin, Texas por David Yow (vocal) e David Wm. Sims (baixo), ambos ex-membros do Scratch Acid. Duane Denison (guitarrista) e Mac McNeilly (bateria) foram chamados para completar o quarteto. Embora tenha lançado seis discos ao longo de sua carreira (incluindo dois por uma gravadora de grande porte), e ganhado notoriedade na cena underground, o grupo nunca alcançou o sucesso comercial de outras bandas de rock alternativo da época e encerrou as atividades em 1999. A banda chamava a atenção por suas apresentações principalmente por parte da performance caótica de David Yow. Desde 2008 a banda vem se reunindo ocasionalmente para tocar em festivais.
